MEMOIR

I wanted to capture the real and the surreal of childbirth and of becoming a mother.

A GHOST STORY
Newlywed Hannah is on her dream honeymoon. Husband, Lou, is not so sure.
First submission to NYC Midnight flash fiction contest. Placed 7th out of thirty-five in the same category.
What the judges had to say:
1. The characters are well developed, and the conflict between them is palpable.
2. The characters are believable and convincing. Great dialogue.

THE HAT OF AGES
A FAIRYTALE
An old woman and her companion hat venture far from home only to discover that she already has everything she needs.
Placed 9th out of 35 in the same category to the NYC Midnight flash fiction contest.
What the judges had to say:
1. You have a gorgeous storytelling voice. Your sentences were beautifully balanced and your descriptions were vivid and engaging.
2. The narration in this piece is very strong, especially with regards to the imagery.
